Vision
To establish a healthcare environment in which vector-borne diseases (VBDs) no longer pose a threat to public health—ensuring timely identification of infected individuals and mitigating the consequences of infection.
Mission
To reduce the clinical impact and mortality associated with vector-borne diseases through improved diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational approaches.
Goals and Strategic Instruments of the BAVD Clinical Task Force
Define clinical activities based on specific vectors and the diseases they transmit, ensuring a targeted and disease-specific approach.
Identify and address current challenges faced by clinicians, particularly in interpreting diagnostic results in light of often complex or atypical clinical presentations.
Recognize and analyze weaknesses within the clinical field that contribute to misdiagnosis or inadequate treatment of VBDs.
Recommend updated diagnostic and therapeutic protocols and promote adherence to established guidelines that are underutilized in current practice.
Engage with key stakeholders, including public health authorities, secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions, infectious disease specialists, and related disciplines, as well as national and regional health councils and veterinary institutions.
Organize continuous medical education (CME) initiatives to raise awareness of the presence, significance, and current trends in VBDs.
Establish collaborations with specialized VBD centers to facilitate ongoing professional development and scientific exchange.
Advocate for multidisciplinary involvement in the care of VBD patients by promoting the education of professionals in related specialties (e.g., anesthesiology, neurology, physiotherapy) and ensuring unrestricted access to advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., electromyoneurography, brain and spinal MRI).
