BAVBD contribution:
Through my work at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sarajevo, and the accredited Laboratory for Parasitology (BAS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018), I have gained experience in laboratory diagnostics, field sampling, vector monitoring, and research activities related to emerging pathogens transmitted by ticks and other vectors.
I participated in several national and international projects related to tick mapping in Bosnia and Herzegovina, monitoring of Culicoides species and sand flies, wildlife health monitoring, and surveillance of zoonotic and parasitic diseases. These projects included multidisciplinary collaboration with experts in veterinary medicine, epidemiology, entomology, environmental protection, wildlife management, and public health institutions.
My PhD research focused on the distribution of emerging tick-borne pathogens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular interest in epidemiological surveillance and One Health approaches connecting veterinary medicine, environmental health, and public health.
Within BAVBD, I am interested in collaborating on the following areas: vector and pathogen surveillance, tick-borne disease diagnostics, wildlife monitoring, zoonotic disease research, international research networking, epidemiological data exchange, and future regional and international project proposals, as well as One Health initiatives in the Balkan region.
