BAVBD and EBSA: Strategic partnership agreement
The EBSA - European Biosafety Association and the Balkan Association for Vector-Borne Diseases (BAVBD) are delighted to announce the signing of a strategic partnership agreement that will promote collaboration, mutual support, and coordinated action across the region.
This partnership represents a significant milestone in strengthening biosafety, biosecurity, and One Health collaboration throughout the Balkan region. The agreement reflects shared organisational values and recognises the Balkans as a critical area where coordinated capacity building in biosafety is both urgently needed and already demonstrating real progress.
Dr. Pavle Banovic, Treasurer of BAVBD and Balázs Somogyi, Biosafety Task Force Leader noted: "As BAVBD, we look forward to close cooperation with EBSA in knowledge exchange, joint activities, and advancing biosafety standards. This collaboration opens new opportunities for our experts, institutions, and regional networks to contribute to strengthening laboratory and public health systems across Europe. We thank the EBSA Council for their trust and look forward to the work ahead."
Pat Casey, EBSA President, added: "EBSA represents Europe's leading biorisk professionals, and we are delighted to welcome BAVBD as our newest partner. Through our work with BAVBD and their Biosafety Task Force, we deepen our engagement with the Balkan region and look forward to building an even stronger partnership in the years ahead."
